Late May, meaning meteorological summer is about to start in the Northern Hemisphere. Some trees and shrubs were recently cut down here at Casa del The Dude, exposing more of the property to direct sun from the south- a little early to tell how much of a difference it is going to make in the long term with regards as to what will grow and heating/cooling bills. Genghis is a bit of a sun lover, so there is at least one thumbs-up from the family, even if some of the others are looking fearfully at the glowing orb in the sky ala Christopher Lee.

The Dude personally is happier regarding the amount of night sky that is newly visible. Opportunities to star-gaze, have a small bonfire, or other quiet hang-outs are much more his speed. Building a small patio in the newly available space is also being discussed, we shall see.
