The Dude loves Ye Olde Informatik Oxtrail… it allows folks to wander to places and see things that they didn’t even know that they were looking for. Case in point: Mad Monster Party?– a children’s movie made by the same folks who brought you Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town and a 1980 cartoon version of The Return of the King. Scary as it seems, The Dude clearly recalls seeing Mad Monster Party? as a child on a random Saturday afternoon rerun. Some of the elements that were burned in The Dude’s young cerebral cortex was that of Dr. Frankenstein attacking King Kong with airplanes, as well as an unforgettable performance by Phyllis Diller as the Bride of Frankenstein. The AKO didn’t believe that she had ever seen it, but it’s one of those movies that you can easily blank out of your life until you start reading the details… ok, even then. Have any readers run across this (and the term is used VERY loosely) classic? BTW- the aforementioned ROTK is the source of such fun as orcs singing “Where there’s a whip… there’s a way” and the infamous ballad: “Frodooooo… of the NINE fingers… and the ring of DOOM….”.
