Hello, faithful readers, time for another exciting installment of Kind of an Esoteric Guy! When we last left our hero, the fearsome Green Wave had arrived, summoning the Neighbors-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named from the far reaches of non-Euclidean space-time (or the southwestern U.S., whichever is closer). No further updates on that front, but keep your fingers crossed… the NWSNBN haven’t been visible all that much since the Elder Sign, er, Realty Sign has gone up, and The Dude is hoping that they just got everything set up for the sale, and have gone back into hibernation. The Dude’s job provides him with a laptop as his primary machine, so a docking station with a large monitor sits on his office desk so he doesn’t want to claw his eyes out when working with multiple applications. Overall, this setup works remarkably well when he’s actually in the office, as it’s nice enough to let him sometimes forget that he doesn’t have an actual workstation. Unfortunately, there are times when the laptop must be used outside the office, and, until recently, this caused large amounts of cash to be spent on Bactine. While culling useless things from The WalletTM, The Dude stumbled upon a cache of loooooong forgotten gift cards to one of the local electronic retailers, and was able to purchase one of these for the home office as a sort of Father’s Day gift to himself. It works well with the work machine, but even better with The Dude’s other toys. Good times, good times. Now if only SciFi wasn’t forcing everyone to wait until November for BSG2525 to start up again…
