The Dude sometimes wonders what people ten or twenty years from now will think about all the posts and blogs that are planted out on Ye Olde Informatik Oxtrail for all to see. Will they laugh and think them quaint? Will they think them an aberration in what has become a wholly alien society? At some point, Attila and Genghis will be old enough to read these on their own. What will they think of us? Of course this assumes that GOOG doesn’t go out of business and somehow take all the data with them (unlikely on both counts). The Dude ran a social search tool on himself just to see what it could find (catching highwaymen needs all sorts of tools), and it was interesting to see some of the dates associated with what it did find, and how some of those “hits” were things long forgotten. 100 Quatloos to the first person to correctly identify the origin (title and artist) of the song lyrics quoted on the title line without looking it up (ie. cheating).
