There has been a flurry of activity recently in the EU regulatory space, namely the announcement of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), and the Digital Services Act (DSA). The Dude has been following this with interest, for the same reasons that the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is interesting. What he means by this is that it’s an example of how the EU is attempting to use rules based order to influence its trading partners into behaving in a manner in that benefits the EU, that is, behaving like a major global power.
